2024 Solano Stroll
September 8, 2024
We're honored to return to the Solano Stroll year after year. Since 1974 Solano Avenue and the twin-cities of Albany and Berkeley CA, have hosted the Solano Avenue Stroll, the East Bay’s largest street festival! 34 of our dojo members played 4 sets on Solano Street and debuted a song called Tobane.

Fairyland

We loved returning to Oakland's Fairyland theme park for children and spreading the taiko joy with a special drumming workshop for kids + performances.
Cupertino Cherry Blossom Festival

We were honored to return and close out the Cupertino Cherry Blossom Festival. We played a 30-minute set that included Kenka, Cups Matsuri, Masaru, Shikisai, Rollercoaster, and Shunpuu
Piedmont Food Festival

This was our second time playing at the Piedmont Food Fest alongside many wonderful multicultural performers, food trucks and families. We debuted a new Masaru arrangement and song.
Oakland Running Festival

We love playing for the runners along the routes of marathon, half-marathon, etc. This year we played a variety of short selections including a parade and a new samba arrangement, and rolled out our beautiful new odaiko! Thank you to the runners who waved at us and danced with us - we were there for you but you shared the love back!
International Women's Day Matsuri

Oakland Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade

This was the second annual Lunar New Year's Parade hosted by the Oakland Chinatown Improvement Council. We were delighted to turn out a big group to celebrate with our community, and marched with katsugi okedo (light drums with a shoulder strap) and narimono (like hand cymbals).
SEWA Bay Area Fundraiser Dinner

Sumo and Sushi

2023 Solano Stroll

We're honored to return to the Solano Stroll year after year. Since 1974 Solano Avenue and the twin-cities of Albany and Berkeley CA, have hosted the Solano Avenue Stroll, the East Bay’s largest street festival! The Solano Avenue Association invites you to see what makes Solano Avenue a wonderful place. We feature over four hundred vendors including 50 entertainers, 25 food booths, 100 government and non-profit agencies, 100 artisans, jewelers, makers, and much more!
